How to link digitalization with sustainability for businesses

Context

In today’s business landscape, digitalization and sustainability efforts strongly intersect. As Europe increasingly positions itself as a sustainability frontrunner, legislative frameworks such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) will have major (indirect) consequences for companies of every size. Here, the emphasis on considering the role of digitalization within corporate sustainability is growing (coined as the ‘twin transition’). 

Indeed, organizations face a dual challenge: how to harness the power of digital technology while remaining environmentally and socially responsible.
